A carbon circular economy

COGCI invest in and support the technology and solution development, demonstration and application, which may have significant impacts on the global GHG emissions, especially those related to the oil and gas industry, so as to substantially promote China's response to climate change. As the general partner and fund manager of China Climate Investments fund, COGCI adheres to the principles of innovation, investment and commercialization. We support the Paris Agreement and are committed to a carbon circular economy, focusing on carbon reduction, carbon utilization, carbon recycle and carbon removal, so as to jointly achieve the low-carbon ecological economy modernization.

The Oil and Gas Climate Initiative is a CEO-led organization bringing together 12 of the largest oil and gas companies worldwide to lead the industry’s response to climate change. It aims to accelerate action towards a net zero emissions future consistent with the Paris Agreement. OGCI members are Aramco, bp, Chevron, CNPC, Eni, Equinor, ExxonMobil, Occidental, Petrobras, Repsol, Shell and TotalEnergies. Together, OGCI member companies represent about 30% of global oil and gas production.
OGCI members set up OGCI Climate Investments to create a US$1 billion-plus fund that invests in companies, technologies and projects that accelerate decarbonization within energy, industry, built environments and transportation.

CCUS is an important vehicle for large-scale low-carbon utilization of fossil energy, which can directly or indirectly reduce carbon dioxide in the air and is the fundamental technical guarantee for achieving the goal of carbon neutrality.

Carbon dioxide is the most important greenhouse gas. Improving energy efficiency in energy, industry, buildings, transportation and other fields is an important way to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

Methane is a far more potent greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide, so reducing methane emissions can result in an important near-term reduction in the pace of global warming.
